The BirdTrack application offers a streamlined solution for recording and monitoring bird sightings, facilitating a more organized and insightful birdwatching experience. It also contributes valuable data to research and conservation efforts at local, national, and international levels. Whether documenting individual notable sightings or compiling comprehensive lists during field excursions, users can conveniently manage their observations directly from their mobile devices. The app is free of charge and integrates seamlessly with users' online BirdTrack accounts, serving as a versatile digital logbook for various bird species and select other wildlife groups.

Key features include:

• Selection of species from an illustrated checklist, generated based on BirdTrack data pertinent to your location and season.
• Offline functionality that allows for mapping and recording observations in areas without internet access.
• Ability to record sightings globally, regardless of location.
• Access to suggested local birding sites, with options to add records from these sites to aid in population monitoring.
• Inclusion of other taxa such as amphibians, butterflies, dragonflies, mammals, orchids, and reptiles (UK only).
• Options to review and modify previous records directly within the app.
• A community sightings map showcasing recent observations from other BirdTrack users.
• Tools for tracking annual and lifetime lists, as well as viewing ‘target’ species identified by other users.
